Kajuru is a local government area in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Kajuru (Ajure). It was carved out of Chikun Local Government Area in March 1997 by the military administration of General Sani Abacha’s regime. Their major ethnic group is the Adara. The Adara people are otherwise known as Kadara by the Hausa. Others include the Gbagyi and settler elements such as the Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, and Igbo, amongst others from the various parts of the state and country. There is a population of more than a million people residing in Maraba- Kajuru Districts including the natives and immigrants.

Kajuru is an agrarian based economy with agriculture as its major economic activity, which serves as the bedrock of other activities. These activities include food and cash crop production, livestock rearing, poultry trading and crafts making. The major system of farming practiced is the subsistence farming by peasant farmers, with few people invested in commercial farming which produces large quantity of agricultural products.

Life have become so miserable in Kajuru, her villages have been characterized with incessant killings over a decade now. Almost all their Villages are deserted; the natives have flown into several IDP Camps within Kaduna State. Kadara natives, who were resident in their ancestral lands now live in abject poverty in different IDP Camps for fear of been killed by gunmen. Kadara people unable to engage in any economic activities until this killing cease.

Kadara natives and other dwellers cannot wait to return to Kajuru villages. But they have been praying to God to send helpers that will help build their homes with basic building materials. Most of them have been out of their small farm businesses and literary living on little food items they are able to grab from generous individuals and corporate organizations, who visit IDP Camps situated in Kaduna state occasionally.

King’s Film International Ministries (KFIM) and Beljodas Care Foundation (BCF) are launching Operation Rebuilding Kajuru Villages through the generous contributions of organizations and individuals who desire to see large number of people return back to their normal lives.
