Humanitarian Crisis

Humanitarian crisis
lingers in the North – Eastern states of Nigeria, despite the relief aid given from multi national countries. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Matthew 25:42‭-‬46 KJV

We have employed the following tools for sustainable intervention:

🔷 Disbursement of monthly stipends to the most vulnerable and wounded to start small businesses.

🔷 The beneficiaries are formed into cooperatives for thorough accountability and inspections of the small businesses to attain certain millstone before the next disbursement.

🔷 Scholarship will be given termly to out-of-school children of the poorest of the poor IDPs to get back to school.

🔷 The most aged IDPs will be given new clothes, food stuffs and monthly allowances for their upkeep since they can’t work anymore.

🔷 Trauma healing program will be held regularly to thousands of the IDPs, who haven’t recovered from the trauma of not only losing loved ones, but suffered from the agonies of been displaced. This program will be held in different villages across Borno state and by extension, North – Eastern region.

🔷 Vocational training and skill acquisition programmes will be run to help widows and young women get trained on any skill of their choice. At the end of the exercise, the women will be financially empowered to start a small medium enterprise.
